The original condition of the house was a trip to the 70s, with bright colors, bold prints and patterns. The owners wanted to maintain the character of the home by giving it a modern update for this day and age. A wall was removed to open up the kitchen to the living area. The original kitchen was too large, so the excess space was repurposed into a large butler’s pantry and utility and laundry space. The updated kitchen is a much more appropriate and functional in size. The pass-through window above the kitchen sink was expanded for a better view of the lake from the kitchen. New patterned tile was installed in the butler’s pantry and utility room. All finishes and materials are in neutral tones, and sophisticated gray shades.
